A Talking Board upon which you can place a plastic talking insert to spell out the answers. Make sure the insert goes under a transparent flap.
There are four different inserts to put under the clear plastic sheet.
Your choice depends on the questions you want to ask.
A movable Planchette, a heart shaped thingy to move around to spell out and point to letters, words and answers.
Two erasable Mystic Markers. To install the marker take off the cap.
Place the marker in the hole until you hear a firm CLICK, make sure it points ink-tip downward, and place on the plastic sheet.
history  The Telling Heart (TH) is also known as a talking board.
The idea goes back to at least the1800s, but some simple forms were found in even earlier times.
It uses a planchette (included heart-shaped piece of plastic, originally made of wood in the last century),
it was named—ready for this—after a family named Planchette, who played it all the time.
The planchette is a movable pointer to indicate the message by spelling it out on the board during the playing.
You would put your fingers on the planchette and it moved about the board to spell out words.
    How to use
    Load markers (as above).
1.Create some spooky atmosphere. A lot of people use the board at night when, they say, less interference is in the atmosphere.
It sure is more fun and spooky. The TH is more creepy if you darken the room and turn on some flashlights to provide the light.
Turn off your cell phone, TV, and any music so they won’t break the mood.
    2. Have a seat. The users (two is often the best, while your friends can look on) should sit facing each other, with knees touching if possible, with the board on their laps.
Use a small table if you like. Do what feels comfortable for you. That’s the WISHTER way.
    3. Decide on a person who will be the questioner. Even though both people can ask questions—or anyone else in the room can—only one of the users should be the one to ask questions of the board.
    4. Feel relaxed and excited at the same time. Lift your fingers in the air and wiggle them. Have everyone in the group do this.
Imagine energy rising into your fingers. As you lightly touch the planchette, imagine power, gentle power, rushing from your fingers. They may tingle.
    5. Place your fingers on the planchette. You and your partner should place the fingers of both hands very lightly on the planchette, or pointer.
    6. Move it. Purposely move the planchette around in a circle on the board for a moment or two to get it ‘warmed up.’
    7. Attitude. Don’t let the board control the session. The questioner should begin by announcing that at the start of the game and only allow an experience that is fun and good. Begin simply.
Start with a simple question, one that requires a yes or no answer.
    8. Be patient. You might not begin to get answers right away. Give yourself and the board a chance to ‘warm up.’
    9. Be polite. When the board starts working, thank all of the friends seated with you. Take turns in an orderly fashion.
    t
Have someone write down the answers. Sometimes the letters spell out very quickly and it’s difficult to keep track of what’s being said. Keep track of answers in THE
JOURNAL that comes with the set and allows erasures.
EVERY WISHTER KIT comes with at least one built in magical twist.
If the actual device isn’t weird and spooky enough, these tricks will really freak them out.
Remember it is not necessary to use the magical twist.
