Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. was an American writer and humorist. In a career spanning over 50 years, Vonnegut published fourteen novels, three short story collections, five plays, and five works of non-fiction. He is most famous for his darkly satirical, best-selling novel Slaughterhouse-Five (1969).
"So it goes." - from Slaughterhouse-Five. This novel
tells of the life of Billy Pilgrim, who like Vonnegut was born in 1922 and survives the bombing of Dresden. The story is told in a non-linear fashion, with many of the story's climaxes disclosed in the story's first pages. This is appropriate, as the protagonist is a man unstuck in time.
