  • Condition: This Norman 400B setup has seen a lot of use on location, so has a lot of dings from frequently being transported. We used to get it fixed at Flash Clinic in NYC (for those of you who are old-school and remember that place) but one day the lamp head fell over & we just got a new portable system instead. So it probably only needs a basic repair, but we cannot guarantee anything, so this sale is strictly for use as parts. The batteries are old & have not been used in about 20 years, so we don't know how much charge they would hold. Please examine photos carefully for the external conditions of the parts, the pins, etc. Charger is not included. Sold as is.

    Description

    This Norman set has seen a lot of action & has the war wounds to show for it. It has been fixed many times, from tough conditions on location sets, and was always fixable by Flash Clinic (for you old-school photogs who remember that NYC institution) until we decided to replace it with something more powerful & modern. Still have a lot of nostalgia for the rickety 400B, though. We're happy to see there are still 400B fans still trading parts here.
    A few missing screws, lots of dings in the metal box; the flash tube looks pretty good but we have no idea if it works; the reflector is a little warped but still fits on the head. The Chimera softbox ring is a nice thing to have. The second, flatter reflector belongs in the Chimera ring, we just didn't have the tool handy to loosen the screws to put it back in.
    The batteries are iffy so if a buyer would like to save a little on shipping, we could exclude them (the price of the set remains the same, though).
