    Description

This is the ''Centennial History of the Grand Chapter of Georgia Order of the Eastern Star 1901-2001'' with J. Montine Mize as head of the Georgia Centennial Historical Committee and published in 2000 under the authority of the Grand Chapter.
Contents include a history of the organization, detailed recaps of each annual session (complete with the names and chapter affiliation of state officers), memoirs of various Worthy Grand Matrons, reports on the organization's charities, names of past Grand Matrons and Grand Patrons from 1901 onward, a breakdown of chapter and membership statistics, a listing by year of chapters chartered, an alphabetical list of chapters and much more.
Ther hardover volume measures 6 1/4 by 9 1/4 inches and contains 424 pages oncoatged stock. It is illustrated with full-color and black-and-white photograhs. The boards are burgundy cloth with gilt lettering and a decorative device on the front and gilt lettering on the spine. The boards show a bit of shelf and handling wear, the front board is slightly splayed and the name of a previous owner is written on the first free endpaper, but otherwise the volume is in very nice shape.
