    Description

Outstanding and scarce porcelain figurine of a Borzoi dog reclining on a plinth, by Rosenthal (Germany). Fully hallmarked, dating production to 1939. Impressed with the model number 997 and the artist's name, H. Meisel. Incredibly well detailed, with the details made more prominent by the blanc de chine finish, which focuses the eye on the details and not the coloration. In absolute mint condition without repairs or restorations as examined by black light and lighted magnification. This fine quality porcelain dog measures 4" tall, 7 7/8" long and 3 1/2" deep. An outstanding piece for the dog collector looking for a rare and unusual addition to an advanced collection.
