Description

A rare original presentation script for the repeat transmission of "Logopolis" episode one. This script was carefully compiled by the production office from the original studio recording scripts to produce a chronological record of the scenes within each episode. Studio recording scripts normally show scenes in recording order, so for instance all scenes within the TARDIS are normally recorded together and script pages are color coded scene by scene. A studio recording script is not suitable as a guide to transmission so "Presentation" scripts have to be compiled. Copies of these scripts were also sent to the BBC Drama Script Archive. The BBC TV Presentation Department is the section of the Corporation responsible for putting programs on air and part of the requirement for each transmission is the provision of a script for review purposes. This script is the actual copy supplied to Presentation in November 1981 for repeat transmission as part of the "Five Faces of Doctor Who" celebration. I personally obtained 3 autographs at sci-fi conventions: Autographed by Matthew Waterhouse (Adric) on October 21, 2017 at Time Eddy 3 in Wichita, Kansas. Autographed by Sarah Sutton (Nyssa) & Janet Fielding (Tegan) on March 24, 2018 at (Re)Generation Who 4 in Baltimore, Maryland. See last 3 photos!!

Logopolis is the seventh and final serial of the 18th season and was first broadcast in four weekly parts on BBC1 from February 28 to March 21, 1981. It was Tom Baker's last story as the 4th Doctor and marks the first appearance of Peter Davison as the 5th Doctor and Janet Fielding as new companion Tegan Jovanka. The serial is set on the planets Earth and Logopolis. In the serial, the Doctor, a time
traveler
from outer space, forms a temporary truce with his arch-enemy the Master (Anthony Ainley) to stop the unraveling of the universe which the Master had started by accident.
